Why Did Sierra Lamar Disappear?

A couple of weeks ago, a reader contacted me with some possible theories concerning a missing teenager named Sierra Lamar. Sierra was last seen on March 16, 2012, while waiting for the school bus. Since then, a suspect by the name of  Antolin Garcia Torres was identified, prosecuted, and convicted, yet Sierra has never been found. The reader had some questions concerning possible co-defendants and motives that have never been explored, along with places that have not been searched. I decided to do an update, asking about it.

The question I am asking is "why did Sierra Lamar disappear?" I will do a horoscope spread, which should reveal many dynamics in the situation in one reading. While the Tarot cannot give us names and addresses, per se, understand why something happened can lead us to reliable theories and clues.

We begin with the six of pentacles, reversed, in the first house of potential and the beginnings of the situation, itself. This card, reversed, refers to bad debts and bribes, both of which probably did not involve Sierra directly, as she was a minor. The second house deals with finances and possessions, we have have Temperance, here. Temperance is a blending of physical elements, or cooperation between people, so I must wonder if this refers to an agreement, or a broken agreement. Moving along to the third house, we have the four of cups, reversed. Third house significations are familial relationships, written words, and communication of all kinds. The card that landed here is the four of cups, reversed, which shows a new direction for matters to take, based upon communication. So far, it appears that there was an agreement that did not actually involve Sierra, and that there was premeditation to kidnap her, that day.

The fourth house, of environment and home surroundings, gives us the nine of swords, which is worry. This card has a double meaning: Sierra's family was and is worried, and the motive for taking her was a dark one. This is a card of grief. In the fifth house, of creativity, we have the five of swords....a card of violence and revenge. It is descriptive of the perpetrator and his perspective, and I hate to see it in the fifth house. It shows someone attempting to hurt an individual or family, and dreaming up mean spirited ways to do it. The sixth house, of known enemies and inconveniences, shows us the eight of cups, reversed, which is a card of mirth and happiness when upside down. This, too, is from the perpetrator's perspective. He did the horrible thing he attempted to do. The seventh house, of agreements and partnerships, has the Queen of Cups, reversed. I do not think this is Sierra; in fact, I think the perpetrator had problems with someone else, and just used Sierra as proverbial "punching bag". This is a woman from whom the perpetrator  experienced an imagined slight. The eighth house goes hand in hand with the seventh house, as it symbolizes the results and assets of partnerships, such as joint bank accounts or co-owned property of any kind. It also refers to death, but that is not its only signification. The card here is the Page of Cups, and I believe that is Sierra. It shows a youth who is creative and imaginative, and its placement in the eight house shows that there was something the perpetrator wanted from her, that morning, but did not get.

In the ninth house, of education and and ideals, we get the Knight of Swords, reversed, who I believe is the perpetrator. This knight often represents violence, and the coming or going of a toxic or lethal situation. It's a card I hate to see in a reading like this, and I truly hope I am wrong in my interpretations, here. The tenth house, of public matters, gives us the nine of pentacles, reversed. When the nine of pentacles falls reversed, the message is simply failure; possibly from a lack of independent ideas or input from dishonest sources. There hasn't been any new information to make public in quite some time. In the eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, and helpful people, we have the King of Cups. He would be a professional who knows what he's doing, and can help with forensic evidence and in interpreting the data that's already been given to him. The twelfth house, of secrets and endings, gives us the Queen of Swords, who is a woman, probably law enforcement at some level, who has information that has not been made public. I am encouraged to see her here, because that means that someone is still trying to solve the case.

As for where Sierra might be found, nine seems to be a significant number. The fourth house card, of environment, is the nine of swords. Nine parts, or possibly nine miles, are possible messages. Then, in the ninth house, we have the card of the perpetrator, himself, showing up as the Knight of Swords, reversed. I believe he acted alone, but in retaliation for something that might not have even happened. His whole reason for being where he was that morning was to harm someone. Then, in the tenth house, we have another nine, this one being the reversed nine of pentacles. This card is a bit troubling, since one of its meanings is a cancelled project. I believe this may have been a cancelled search in a critical area, and I hope efforts are made to double down on this in the future. I think the defendant who was prosecuted was the right person, but I think someone else, possibly a woman (the reversed Queen of Cups in the seventh house) may be holding back information that could help bring some closure.

Who Killed Jody Lecornu

Image result for jody missing from maryland

On March 2, 1996, 23 year old Jody Lecornu was shot and killed in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a student at Towson State University. Jody was found in her car, which had traveled a short distance, then crashed, when she was shot. Someone had put the car in park and taken something from it, leaving Jody in the car. To this day, no one has identified that person, and her twin sister and the rest of her friends and family are still waiting for justice. Lets see what the Tarot can tell us.

We begin with the King of Cups in the first house. The first house is the face of the entire matter, and the Tarot has identified the cause as a dishonest man with a certain amount of power in Jody's life. This man would have appeared calm most of the time, but with a well hidden violent streak. The second house, of possessions and items of value, gives us the ten of wands, which shows that there was definitely a conflict between this king and Jody, and he used force and violence to bring the conflict to an end. In this person's mind, murder was the only way to solve his problem. In the third house, of communication and short journeys, we get the four of pentacles, the card of the miser, reversed. This shows that someone had been a bit opposite of a miser with money and other resources, and had been less than careful with something considered important. Two important notes here is that this involved resources and/or money that did not completely or actually belong to either Jody or the mystery man, and Jody was familiar with the mystery man. Moving on the fourth house, we have the eight of wands, reversed, which gives an atmosphere of anger and jealousy to the environment surrounding the end of Jody's life.

The Hierophant appears in the fifth house, of creativity, speculation, and entertainment. Here we have solid tradition in a house that favors unconventionality. The suggestion here is that Jody may have approached something her own way, while having been expected to approach it in a more realistic way. This is reinforced by the two of wands showing up reversed in the sixth house, of day to day affairs and inconveniences. The reversal of the two of wands shows the end of a stalemate, possibly betrayal.

In the seventh house, we see the six of wands, which is usually a card of good news and success, especially in the seventh house of partnerships, so what could have happened here? One thing is clear: there WAS an agreement or a partnerships of sorts between Jody and the King of Cups. So far, the reading has not indicated that this was a romantic partnership, so I believe it was about something non-romantic. It is followed by the eight of pentacles, the card of the apprentice and workplace, in the eighth house, the house of joint accounts, co-owned assets, and sometimes, death. Could Jody have known her killer from a workplace? The seventh and eighth houses, together, suggest that this was a workplace matter, whether known or not.

We find the Fool in the ninth house of religion, and education, and beliefs. This is Jody's mistaken belief that she was safe when she wasn't. It also shows a certain indifference on the killer's part toward societal beliefs concerning murder and violence. This person was not terribly concerned about getting caught at the moment he did it, either. Inasmuch as he is concerned, no one involved in Jody's life knew about him, or about his association with Jody, so he felt cocky about getting away with murder. The tenth house, of public life, government, and the law yields Death, reversed, showing that the case has stagnated without resolution.

The eleventh house, of desires, friends, and social activities, gives us the seven of cups. The shows that the case has been examined from many angles, but to no avail. The idea here is that emotions have not lead to answers but down to earth "following the money", so to speak, might open up valid avenues of investigation. The last card, representing the twelfth house, of endings, undoings, and sometimes death, is the Queen of Cups. This represents a woman who will not give up on the case until it is solved. Unlike the King of Cups, she is upside right, making her honest and reliable. Solving Jody's murder will involve further questioning of everyone with whom Jody was casual friends, finding out who owed her money or to whom she owed money, even if she merely borrowed money from someone. It also may unearth some unsettling secrets that the killer intended to extinguish forever; but hopefully, Jody will get justice.

What Happened To Emanuela Orlandi?

Emanuela Orlandi, of Vatican City, disappeared while walking home from a flute lesson on June 22, 1984, at the age of fifteen. It seemed, last week, that there may have been a valid tip given to her family, pointing them to the Teutonic Cemetery in Vatican City. "Look where the angel is pointing", was the advice, and that led to two graves from the 1800's, of two princesses. The graves were opened, and no bones were found; not the princesses, or Emanuela. So where does this leave the investigation, and where is Emanuela? We will see if the Tarot can help. I will use a horoscope spread here.

In the first house, of the matter, itself, we find the seven of cups. This is a card of illusions and choices, none of those choices truly reflecting reality. We already have a message that Emanuela may have been lured by someone or something that was not as it appeared. This sets the stage for the entire matter. Next, in the second house, we find the Wheel of Fortune. The second house deals with wealth and ownership of material things, and the Wheel of Fortune deals with unexpected luck......it seems that her disappearance represented an unplanned opportunity to someone, rather than stalking. As things currently sit, the perpetrator still "owns" the entire matter. In the third house, of communication and short journeys, we have the seven of pentacles, and card that shows waiting for fruition. On more mundane levels, this could also relate to a place that is a short journey from where Emauela was last seen; a place with gardens and possibly fruit trees or grapes growing. The fourth house gives us the Knight of Pentacles, a young man who moves slowly and thoroughly. This man is connected to Emanuela's family and home, and represents the efforts to find her. He has not given up.

The fifth house, of creative endeavors and speculation, shows the nine of wands. The message here is not to give up; the nine of wands is patience. In the sixth house of inconveniences and disagreements, we find Judgement, which is good news in a case like this. Judgement is all about the revealing of secrets, even the secrets of the dead. This could also show legal matters moving in the favor of finding Emanuela. The seventh house, of partnerships; however, yields the two of swords, which shows that there is still some resistance on the part of someone who has not wanted a thorough investigation over the years. The eighth house, of legacies, secrets, and sometimes, death; is a problem. Here, we find the Knight of Cups, reversed. This is a man who is dishonest, perverse, and who has been protected by others. This person has lied about other matters, too, and may have also embezzled. In the ninth house, of justice and religion, we get the Page of Cups, who is a younger, less powerful person. That person has somehow stumbled upon information that is pertinent and is not sure how to share it and be taken seriously. There is a a problem of power here: an older man who has power and protection and a young person with information and an institution that will not give up secrets that it finds demeaning to itself.

The four of cups, reversed, appears in the tenth house of law and order. New information is now possible to assimilate. Communication between investigating agencies will also get better. We have the Hanged Man in the eleventh house of organizations and friends. This shows that there are people who are willing to make a few sacrifices and stand up to authorities in pursuit of the truth. That is a change for the better. In the twelfth house, we find the five of pentacles. Like the eighth house, the twelfth house also deals with death, in addition prisons and hospitals. The depiction on the card is usually a church, which leads me to believe that Emanuela never left Vatican City. I believe that her remains will be found either in a church or a garden outside of one. Sadly, this card also speaks to the idea of lovers unable to find a place to meet.....I really think we have a priest who used a church for this purpose.

Since July 11, when it was discovered that the bones of  were no longer in their marked graves, the investigation has uncovered two ossuaries beneath a floor in an area in the Teutonic College. There are thousands of bones, and DNA testing will be required to determine the identities involved. While I always hope for resolution, I wish my conclusions in this case could have been more positive.

Update: On January 9, 2023, the Vatican reopened Orlandi's case, and will investigate again.

Kyron Horman: Afternoon Of June 4, 2010

Nine years ago, Kyron Horman disappeared from his school, during a science fair, that morning. Last week, I published two sidereal astrological charts covering events of that morning, in Portland, Oregon. Now, I will progress the chart to 3:00 PM, when school was preparing to dismiss, and Kyron should have boarded the school bus to go home. His father and his stepmother, Kaine and Terri Horman, went to the bus stop to meet Kyron, but were told he never got on the bus. The chart for 3:00 PM should give us an idea of what happened in Portland after that morning. Remember, sidereal horoscope placements are twenty-four degrees behind the tropical placements we find in western charts.

The ascendant has moved from Cancer to 13:58 Virgo. This places Saturn in the first house, at this point, and Mercury, the marker for Kyron, is in the eighth. As the ascendant passed over Saturn's position at 3:58 Virgo, there is a suggestion that Kyron was no longer in the company of a woman, (Terri Horman is marked by the moon in this chart) but either in the company of an older male, or in a place that is signified by Virgo; gardens, especially gardens with ponds or small streams. Saturn, casting his rays to the third and tenth houses, influences the Scorpio, the third house of this chart. The third house is communication and short journeys, and Scorpio is all about the "unknown", revenge, and sometimes, standing water. The tenth house here is Gemini, which was the twelfth house in the earlier charts. Ketu, the South Node, and Venus still occupy Gemini, bringing the chaos of the recent past (Ketu) and the secret kept by a woman into Saturn's focus. Saturn delays matters, and this is one of the reasons why I think a man may be involved. The North Node, Rahu, now occupies the fourth house, of environment and home. In this case, environment and home are two different things. Two of Rahu's provinces are illusions and secrets, and Kyron has definitely been kidnapped and hidden. The Moon is now in the sixth house, which outlines inconveniences and problems. Since the Moon is the marker for the stepmother, could there be a problem connected to her, or to her account of where and when she last saw Kyron? The Moon is still in Aquarius, and still displaced by Saturn, denoting a relationship involving reluctant agreements and inconvenient secrets between the stepmother and the mysterious male represented by Saturn. Saturn is displaced by Mercury, Kyron's marker, interestingly.

The seventh house of this progressed chart is Pisces, still occupied by Jupiter. Jupiter is casting his rays to the fifth, seventh, and ninth houses from himself. This gives us a married fatherly figure whose influence goes to Cancer, the tenth house of the chart. Money and reputation play a very strong role to this man. Jupiter also affects the ascendant of this chart, suggesting that the male represented by Saturn is known to the fatherly figure. He and Saturn both cast rays on the sign of Scorpio, that house of secrets, revenge, and standing water. The Sun occupies the ninth house of this chart. Ninth house significations are long journeys, higher learning, and divine grace. The ninth house also relates to Jupiter, but Jupiter and the Sun are not terribly friendly with each other. The suggests that the married father in this picture has turned down help offered by someone who could have helped find Kyron. Disconcerting. The Sun's position in Taurus also opposes Scorpio, the house that is influenced by both Jupiter and Saturn, showing a lack of cooperation between a male connected to Kyron, a suspect, and law enforcement. Ketu, the South Node, and Venus are now in the tenth house, rather than the twelfth house, placing emphasis on authority, purpose, and reputation. So we have Ketu, with all of its emphasis on secrets and chaos, and Venus, with her desire to maintain balance and compromise, sometimes at the expense of the truth or the resolution of a matter. I am also going to go out on a limb here and venture that there may be two vehicles involved at this point: a white vehicle with an eight cylinder engine and a grey or black, older model SUV.  Flags are somehow a symbol, here.......perhaps signs, windsocks, or even bumper stickers.

Mars, the second house occupant in the earlier charts, is now in the twelfth house. He is displaced by Sun, occupant of the current ninth house, and influences the fourth and eighth house from himself. This, once again, puts emphasis on Scorpio and in addition to secrets, suggests violence. He influences Pisces and Jupiter, as well. Some of the malice visited upon Kyron was also intended for Kyron's biological family. This is a willingness to commit violence and possibly murder for material wealth. Part of Kyron's disappearance was about greed and family assets, as well as betrayal. The Sun in the ninth house, Taurus, suggests that a large garden may have been part of the kidnapper's travels with Kyron that day, but I still think water is in the background. It could be as mundane as a place name containing words that refer to the sun, rivers, forests, and gardens.

In the past, I have done Tarot readings for Kyron, and while I have encountered quite a bit of symbolism pointing to Kyron's stepmother as a major player in this drama, I have never seen a direct suggestion that Kyron is deceased. I certainly hope that I was right in the interpretations of those readings, but I am deeply concerned after reading these three charts. There is very heavy emphasis on eighth and twelfth house matters, and both of those houses deal with death, albeit in different ways. The eighth house, which is where we find the Moon on the morning of June 4, is the house of the financial products of partnerships and marriage, or joint assets. This carries over to wills, estates, and life insurance policies. Seeing the intentions of the stepmother in the eighth house, yet somehow relating to a seven year old child, is a bit unusual. Finding Mercury, the marker for Kyron, himself, in the eighth house in the last chart is even more worrying. Then, the morning begins with a heavy twelfth house influence involving Ketu, the South Node, and Venus, a possible female accomplice. This is not good for things involving life and staying alive, so I am very worried about Kyron. Finding warlike Mars in the twelfth house in the last chart suggests that lethal violence is certainly possible. There  is also enough fire in both charts to suggest that fire may have been a means of destrying evidence at some point, shortly after Kyron disappeared.

There are several concerns I have about Kyron's sidereal birth chart, when compared to the charts of June 4, 2010. The first thing that jumped out at me was that the Sun is transiting Kyron's Rahu, or North Node. Rahu is described as the head of a demon that is always hungry, and always devouring. When Rahu encounters the Sun, he devours it, too. This represents Rahu swallowing the very essence and direction of Kyron's life. Not good. Also, Saturn is transiting Kyron's Virgo Moon on June 4, which is an occurance that normally happens no more than three times in a lifetime, and a lot of times, not even that often. This forbodes losses and major changes, and hopefully, Kyron survived, somehow. When Saturn transits the Moon in a child's chart, it is usually about a the child's parents and his relationship with his parents, rather than his own life. Since Kyron's living situation was a bit complicated because of his parents' divorce and because of his stepmother, this configuration worries me a bit. Otherwise, Kyron's chart does not appear to show that his time of passing was supposed to be this early in his life; if it happened, it was not the appropriate time, at all. Another worry is Ketu's presence in the twelfth house in the first event chart; Ketu can bring sudden endings. Another possibility involves Rahu, the North Node. As I pointed out earlier, the Sun is transiting Kyron's Rahu. Rahu tends to swallow the Sun, and anywhere we find Rahu, we often find deception. If Kyron is still alive, someone has something to gain by making it appear that he is dead, and has gone to a certain amount of trouble to make it appear so.

I would be inclined to look for Kyron on a property that has either a cistern or a septic tank. I would expect at least one non-native tree in the area, and a sizeable flower garden. Red, orange, and burnt orange are key colors, especially for flowers and possibly for a vehicle driven by a man. This event had been planned for awhile, and there were at least three people primarily involved; two females and one male. Ketu represents the eleventh hour, and is prominent in all of these charts, so I would also venture a guess that whatever was done with Kyron was done by 11:00 AM on June 4, leaving the accomplices to return to their normal activities for that time of day. Testimony of children and adults at Kyron's school should not be ignored, as at least one individual can offer key facts concerning the last time Kyron was seen by anyone other than his stepmother and younger sister. Another note on this is that Rahu was in the sixth house from the ascendant in the morning; this could illustrate that things were not as they appeared: Kyron was supposed to be in school, but was not; teachers thought Kyron was excused from school, but he was not; cell phones pinged from towers in places that witnesses testified that they had not been; accomplices and suspects worked overtime to establish phony alibis, and the like. Ketu is also transiting Kyron's Saturn in Gemini. Gemini is Kyron's ascendant, but the twelfth house in the chart of the morning of June 4. While this could spell death, Saturn could also have delayed this, while keeping Kyron hidden. My assessment is that Kyron was kidnapped by someone living in his home, and that he is either at the family dwelling, or at another property occupied or frequented by this person.  I don't like to leave a reading this way, but as of June 4, 2010, there was no resolution because not all family members involved were forthcoming and cooperative. In order to bring resolution to this case, law enforcement will have to conduct further interviews of those thought to be involved and search properties, once again, for any missed clues. I still hold out hope for Kyron's safe return.

What Happened To Jodi Huisentruit?

On June 27, 1995, a twenty-seven year old News Anchor named Jodi Huisentruit disappeared in Mason City, Iowa. A few of her possessions and her bent car keys were found outside, near her car, but no trace of her, anywhere. She never made it to work that morning, and has now been missing for over twenty-three years, and I will see if the Tarot has any new suggestions. I have used a horoscope layout here, because that type of layout often gives bits and pieces of information that would otherwise go overlooked in cases such as this, wherein a person has been missing for a very long time.

The first house, describing the situation, itself, has given us Temperance, reversed. When this card falls reversed, it details conflicts and bad combinations of all kinds, and also competing interests. This shows us the general atmosphere, and perhaps the motive, of the person with whom Jodi had this encounter. There was a general feeling that Jodi had the upper hand, or some coveted advantage, that someone else had desired. Moving along to the second house, of material possessions and money, we find the ace of pentacles, reversed. This reinforces what we saw in the first house concerning competing interests: someone envied Jodi. The third house, of communication, relatives, and short journeys, gives us the Page of Pentacles. Here we have a possibility of a valid tip in the form of someone who is willing to go on the record and describe everything he or she noticed on the day Jodi disappeared. Putting the puzzle pieces together has been difficult, and I will come back to this card later, after I have interpreted cards in corresponding positions. I don't think this witness's information has been completely understood and correlated, yet. The Knight of Cups appears in the fourth house, which governs environment, particularly that of the home. Here, we have validity to the information offered by the Page of Pentacles, and we also see that Jodi is "not far from home". Cups also refer to water, and often point us west; but I still do not think that Jodi is far from either her home, or where she was last seen. This knight is also the person who will put together all the information in a relevant way, which will involve an understanding of emotional nuances. This crime was, somehow, quite personal.

The three of cups appears, reversed, in the fifth house, of pleasure, romance, entertainment, fun, and creativity. Sometimes children are indicated by this house, but as Jodi did not have children, we will focus on the other aspects of the fifth house. The reversed three of cups usually tells us about a relationship that went too far, too fast; or, simply, too much of something. It can sometimes point to success that did not pan out, or to an investment that did not pay off. Somehow, this dynamic played into Jodi's situation. Next, we find the eight of pentacles, reversed, in the sixth house of inconveniences, employment, mundane affairs, and co-workers and and employees. When we see the eight of pentacles reversed, we are seeing a situation involving lack of talent in one's profession, or the risk of losing employment. This does not describe Jodi, but it does describe someone around her. So far, this reading has described professional, and possibly romantic, jealousy as a motive to lash out at her.

We have the seven of cups, reversed, in the seventh house of partnerships and agreements. This house also signifies marriage, but it covers all types of partnerships. The seven of cups shows common sense and realistic goals when we find it reversed, and it shows that Jodi was interested in her career when she disappeared; and did not scatter her energy into empty pursuits. This bothered someone. It bothered someone so much that the Tower came up reversed in the eighth house of joint finances and shared expenses. The Tower, in reversal, tells of false imprisonment, false accusations, and oppression and the eighth house is also an indicator of death, so I really do not like this combination, here. This is the first confirmation that we may not find Jodi alive and well, and I always hope I am wrong about things like this. The ninth house, of justice, religious ideals, and long journeys; yields the two of wands, reversed. This refers to better forensic science than what was available in 1995, and it shows not only the challenges for the culprit, but for law enforcement. Witnesses tend to forget things over long periods of time, and sometimes cannot be found in cold cases. The culprit may also get a surprise when something as simple as a fingerprint or a some DNA that could not be correlated in 1995 suddenly becomes relevant, today. This case still faces a lot of challenges in order to become resolved. The Page in the third house represents information or a tip, and the ninth house represents the challenge in following up on the tip. Jodi was taken in different directions, somehow, and no one really had eyes on the person who took her, after she was last seen. Still, I do not think she was taken terribly far; between two and fifteen miles.

The tenth house, of career and public life, shows the Magician, reversed. This is abuse, abuse of power, sometimes abuse of authority, and the general use of skill for destruction. Here, we have yet another reference to Jodi's career! This is also another reference to the personal nature of the crime. It shows that Jodi was not a random victim, but chosen. In the eleventh house of hopes, wishes, ambitions, organizations , and friends, we find the Star. Jodi has a lot of friends and admirers who still want to see her found and want to see this case resolved. "Star" could also be a mundane reference to location, as could the word, "south". The Star also describes small bodies of water, such as lakes, where the stars can be seen reflected in the water. Once again, I do not think she was taken away from the general area. At the end, in the twelfth house, we have the two of swords, reversed. The twelfth house concerns secret enemies, self undoing, and often, death. This card shows a new moon, and there was, indeed, a new moon between June 27 and June 28 of 1995, so I think the twelfth house correlation here is that Jodi died shortly after she was abducted. The person responsible thought he could keep his actions undetected and secret forever, but the reversed two of swords also indicates sudden movement in matters that were once stalemated, so there is hope of new information leading to Jodi.

Alicia Marie Folkers Hummel

On June 1, 2015, Alicia Marie Folkers Hummel was found deceased in Sioux City, Iowa. Her death was determined to be a homicide. A year later, there are no suspects identified, and her murder is unsolved. We will see if the Tarot can be of any help to shed light on who killed her and why.

The reading begins with the Queen of Wands, reversed, crossed by the ace of pentacles. This is interesting; we have a jealous, easily angered woman who is panting after a material prize of some sort, and this shows up as an important part of Alicia's case. In the causal background, we have the Hanged Man, which is a card of waiting and sometimes, of personal sacrifice. Then, as an event in Alicia's recent past, we have the three of swords, reversed. This speaks of family quarrels and of a distinct possibility that Alicia knew a sensitive secret about someone and compromised that person.Watching all this is the Queen of Swords. As this queen falls upright, and her suit is swords, it appears that she is either law enforcement or connected to the judicial system. She is intent upon solving this crime. A challenge she faces, however; is the Page of Swords, reversed. This is a young person who knows all of the information necessary to make an arrest and convict a suspect, but he is lying.

In the place of fears, we find the four of pentacles, reversed. Money was a factor here, yet money and resources are still being wasted. Alicia's killer(s) have not been able to completely cover their tracks and use any resources they had hoped to gain from this act. The physical environment is described by the Wheel of Fortune. This is partly a facade;the murder has not made anyone feel terribly lucky. The other message indicated by this card is that no one has been arrested yet, and the guilty party(s) is feeling as if there will never be an arrest. In hopes, we have the ten of swords, reversed. This almost speaks for itself: when this card falls reversed, we see a temporary position of power, and that is exactly what is driving the hopes and fears of the perpetrator, here. The ten of swords can also be a violent card. The reading ends with the seven of pentacles, reversed. This is clearly anxiety about money, and worry that the very reason for the murder will not come to fruition.

An important factor in solving this murder is in the reversed four of pentacles and the Wheel of Fortune. Right now, evidence is being hidden and stored, yet it remains useless to the guilty party while hidden and stored. As soon as it is no longer hidden, but in use, the case will be solved. Something else I picked up from the four of pentacles in reverse is an ever-so-slight lack of care on the part of the guilty party with evidence left near the crime scene. The crime will eventually be solved, seemingly by a stroke of luck.

Where Is Kathy Sue Wilcox?

Almost forty-three years ago, sixteen year old Kathy Sue Wilcox walked out of her family home in Michigan and never came back. She was billed as a "runaway" in a day and age when "runaways" were not taken too seriously, but she was never seen again. No one ever found out what happened to her.

We begin with the Page of Wands, reversed, crossed by the seven of pentacles, which is also read reversed. This is bad news, brought on by indecision and lack of progress in the investigation. An initial impression I get is that there is something that could have been discovered years ago, but wasn't, because the proper effort was not made.

Beneath this, we get the seven of swords, reversed. Sadly, it looks as if Kathy planned to leave home, for a bit. This is followed by the nine of swords, which is the expected worry and pain felt by her family. Above this, detailing the best possible outcome, we have the three of pentacles, which is the card of the tradesman. This tells me that there IS something that can be done, professionally, to locate Kathy. Unexpectedly, the six of wands follows, telling us that the case actually WILL be solved one day. The six of wands is generally good news, but it tells us to wait for "science to give us an answer". The Knight of Cups appears in the middle of the investigation.......he is upside right, so we must assume that he is kindly disposed toward Kathy. From him, we can expect well thought out ideas and propositions that will actually work. He is an adult, but not as old as most of the people who remember Kathy in Michigan. He either knows something substantial and can help the investigation, or knows how to put together clues in order to find Kathy. Next, we have the six of swords, reversed, describing the environment of the situation. This bothers me a bit, because it screams "standstill!" What is standing still? The investigation? Kathy, herself? This is really the only truly morbid detail in this reading.

Next, in the place of desires, we have the Sun. This tells us that no one who is involved, right now, in the search for Kathy and the investigation played a role in her disappearance. This is good; sometimes guilty parties pretend to search for missing people, in order to throw off police and investigators. Also, this card is telling us that somehow, pleasure in things like gardening, farming, and homesteading play a role in finding Kathy. The final card is the ten of cups, which almost never comes up to describe the lot of a missing person. This card is the definition of happiness, happy marriage, good family life, and soul completion. It is not what I expected. Perhaps Kathy is alive and well. I think it is a possibility. If she is not, she will be found, and her disappearance will be explained.

For clues to Kathy's whereabouts, both cards that usually tell us about location in a Celtic Cross reading about a missing person are "six" cards; the six of wands, and the reversed six of swords. Perhaps the message is "six through the forest, stop at the water." The two "sevens" also give us some clues. The seven of pentacles is often called the card of the farmer, because of its association with crops, trees, and waiting for fruit or crops to ripen. Perhaps there is a clue, therein. And the reversed seven of swords is simply careful planning.....Kathy had every intention of running away. Ultimately, south and west appear to be key directions.

The contact information for this case is in the poster above. Please; if anyone has personal knowledge of Kathy Sue Wilcox, call one of the numbers.

Who Killed Michelle Martinko?

Michelle Martinko was murdered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1979, at a shopping mall. To this day, her killer has not been caught. So we will see what the Tarot can tell us about the culprit, and a motive.

I used a horoscope spread for this reading. In the first house, we get the perpetrator, who is described here as the King of Cups, reversed. This is a man who is not only dishonest, but violent......as we already know. Look for him to have been a bit older than eighteen year old Michelle. Not much older chronologically, but more experienced. In the second house, which tells us about the means and resources by which this crime was committed, we see the six of wands. This means that the killer's most convenient tool was the ability to get Michelle's attention and trust. Had she simply ignored him, history might have panned out differently. Next, in the third house, of short journeys and communication, we have the ten of pentacles. This house also deals with memory and memories; and with inheritance. In the mundane aspect, this card's appearance here has me wondering if there is or was surveillance from a bank that could help; or perhaps, and employee from from a bank who saw something. In more personal terms, it is possible that there was some discussion between Michelle and her killer about money, gifts, or shopping. She wasn't robbed, so this will not lead us to the motive.

In the fourth house, we get some solid information about the killer. This house deals with the home environment and property, and the card that comes up is the eight of pentacles, reversed. The message is clear: whoever committed this crime was unethical in his use of his employment skills, and may have had trouble keeping a job. In the fifth house, of creativity and pleasure, we find the eight of wands. This is a bit sick and disturbing; it points to an individual who finds violence amusing. Also, it points to someone who really thought this murder would resolve something. Following this, in the sixth house, we get the seven of cups. The sixth house is all about mundane, everyday relationships and it also covers work relationships.....yet the seven of cups is about illusions and delusions. Could this killer have mistaken Michelle for someone who had wronged him? Or could Michelle have resembled someone he didn't like, or reminded him of someone against whom he had a grudge? This is pointing very strongly to the killer and Michelle possibly knowing each other as acquaintances, but Michelle not having done anything, at all, to arouse his paranoia.

The seventh house of partnerships gives us the ace of wands, reversed. Once again, we are directed to the killer's problems with employment and work relationships. Somehow, this played a role. In the eighth house, of death, legacies, karma, and debt, we have the Wheel of Fortune, which is lucky chance. So our killer had intentions of killing someone, and his opportunity with Michelle constituted "luck", inasmuch as he was concerned! Next, in the ninth house, of law, higher education, "the establishment", and long journeys, we have the Empress, which is the "mother" card in the deck. At the surface, this truly appears to add to the confusion, especially about the motive, but there are some possible interpretations. This is an influence or a person who is not only motherly, but productive. This is not Michelle, but the real reason for the killer's rage.

The tenth house deals with ambition and career goals, and in this house, we get the Star. This is inspiration, and some sort of assistance that the killer got; he had a very good enabler. In fact, it may have been his own mother, harking back to the Empress. That is why he hasn't been identified. In the eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, friends, and social life; we have the Sun. This tells me that the killer has been in plain sight for much of this time, undetected, socializing and living his life. In the twelfth house, of secrets and secret enemies, we have the four of cups, reversed. The four of cups reversed speaks of new relationships and moving on to new circumstances. Seeing it here, in the twelfth house of secrets and self undoing, it appears that the killer moved on, after killing Michell Martinko, and successfully covered his tracks.

Update: A man named Jerry Lynn Burns has been arrested and will go on trial in the murder of Michelle Martinko. He was found through DNA that was left at the crime scene.

Gail Matthews And Tamera Berkheiser

In September of 1994, Gail Matthews and her five year old daughter, Tamara Berkheiser, were found murdered in her home in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. To this day, it remains a cold case, so I will see what the cards have to say about it.

I decided to cast a horoscope spread for this reading. The first house card, depicting the general situation, is the King of Cups. He falls upside right, so I have to assume that he is friend, not foe. This man is friendly, creative, and kind. His presence here is followed by the seven of cups, reversed, in the second house. The second house deals with  finances and possessions, and the seven of cups reversed tells of determination and clear thinking, so it looks as if Gail and the King of Cups had made some plans, of some sort, that involved creativity, money, and possessions. In the third house, of short journeys, relatives, and communication, we have the Chariot, reversed. It shows that the King of Cups and his influence caused someone else's plans to fail! This is someone who was close to Gail, too. In the fourth house of the home, and, coincidentally, the scene of the crime, we find the Fool. The Fools is a card of opportunities and choices, and I think that besides the obvious message of choices, we are getting a glimpse of the murderer here......a young, immature male. As he is represented by a card from the major arcana, we can assume that for some reason, he was important to Gail.

In the fifth house of creativity, children, and sexual encounters, we see the six of pentacles. This could mean several different things; it could mean that someone was paying child support to Gail for her daughter, it could mean that Gail had given or lent money to someone and the gesture was taken as a romantic overture, or it could be a description of the give and take in a romantic relationship or interest in Gail's life. From the current tone of the reading, I will tentatively say it is the second possibility: Gail tried to help someone and the gesture was taken the wrong way. In the sixth house, of everyday matters and work relationships, the four of swords appears. The four of swords is a card of dormancy and rest; it is beginning to look as if someone from a "dormant" or platonic association was attempting to re-awaken the past.

In the seventh house of marriage and partnerships, we find the King of Pentacles, reversed. This is someone who takes wild chances and makes bad choices. Look for him to have brown hair and darkish eyes; he would have been in his twenties in 1994. Abuse, and perverse use of talents are almost trademarks of his; this also isn't this person's only violent crime.

Moving right along to the eighth house, of legacies, transformation, and death, the Death card appropriately comes up. I believe this is telling us that the reversed King of Pentacles actually planned these two murders. In the ninth house of long journeys, the "establishment", and the law, we have the four of pentacles. This lends an air of "pinching pennies" to the investigation.....someone did not want to spend a lot of money or resources. In the tenth house, of career and social standing; and also of "fathers", we have the eight of cups. This is interesting because it shows that Gail was considering a change of scenery, even to the point of giving up some things for which she had worked. Another message, as the tenth house deals with fathers, shows there was a bit of conflict with one here.....possibly her daughter's father? It looks as if Gail was re-thinking a lot of things. Next, immediately after we see that Gail was re-thinking things that had to do with fathers, we actually get the "father" card, the Emperor, in the eleventh house! This is the house of social life and friends, hopes and dreams, and hobbies and pastimes. The Emperor, when he falls reversed, represents an immature, irresponsible man who refuses to grow up and stand on his own two feet. I think this is who and what Gail was dealing with, here. The last card, coming up in the twelfth house of secret enemies and defeat, is the nine of swords, reversed. This is not only worry on Gail's part, but suspicion. Gail had entertained the thought that her killer was a dangerous man before this happened. Sadly, it appears that Gail knew her killer.

Tarot Analysis Of A Post About Kyron Horman

"Thankyou for any readings you do on Kyron,,He has been in Our Hearts and Minds since this little guy went missing..I have a question..There was a poem that showed up online after Kyrons disapperance..Do You ever do a reading on whether it was written about Kyron and what it means..Needless to say it has been disturbing for many of us and I have never forgotten it.. Here it is...The Eskimo (Rich) posted on July 16, 2010 at 7:58 a.m. on OregonLive; 'The sunny side, where you should be, not in the woods or near a tree. A childs blessing a mans remorse, one cops woman so stay the course. Intent was there, luck prevailed humanity blushed and evil sailed, a course, a path, watery grave. Not the K or T we know but others hands in the fire, so, look elsewhere, you will find a clue, idea and then the end that we all knew, would come, sad and happy to see it gone, our lives will go on but one will not, we shed a tear for little him, but not for them. Please if you can give any insight."

Above is a comment that was sent to me last week, about a reading I did for young Kyron Horman, who was seven years old in 2010, when he disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon. Curiously, no reading, to date, that I have done for this young man shows that he is deceased, although the odds of finding a missing child alive decrease dramatically with each day the child is missing. Also, while forensic evidence in the forms of testimony and metadata have been recovered, no evidence, as of yet, has been found relating directly to Kyron or his whereabouts.

So to do a reading on the verse that was posted on a news forum, I decided to ask the Tarot if there was any relevant bearing, expressed here, on Kyron, his whereabouts, or his missing persons case.

We begin with the nine of swords, reversed, crossed by the ten of swords. This message seems pretty clear; the nine of swords, in reversal or upside right, tells us about worry, and the ten of swords represents a violent ending, about which many people here are worried. This violent ending is what the image the writer of the verse wished to convey to the readers. Beneath it, we have the eight of wands, reversed, telling us that the writer also wished to see the general public argue about Kyron and the case. Hmm....perhaps the writer succeeded. Next, Judgement appears, reversed. This card often indicates a fear of death when it falls reversed, but just as often, it denotes bad judgement. Loss of home, property, and other worldly goods is also one of the messages of this card in reversal, and I think the writer was attempting to alarm Kyron's family, in order to perpetrate a scam of some sort. In the place of p
ossibilities, the World has shown up, reversed. The message here is, "this goes nowhere." From this, I am leaning strongly toward the possibility that whoever wrote that verse had nothing constructive to say. Next, we find the Page of Swords. This is someone who snoops to the extent of violating privacy at times, trying to find information. So far, this person has been unsuccessful, and functions as a bit of a dilettante.

The first card on the staff is the ace of wands, representing the writer's fears. This is a wonderful card, telling of new creations, births, fortunes, wonderful business ideas, and the like. Why would it be in someone's fears? But that is what scares this person. Following it, we have Justice, telling us that the judicial system is, in some way, playing a role in the verse writer's life. This could also refer to education, or balance in general, but with a focus on legal aspects; but I think here it refers to involvement with the court. Next, in desires and hopes, we find the three of pentacles, reversed. Our verse writer was either unemployed when the verse was written, or is unreliable and unskilled in his or her chosen field. The last card is the Page of Wands. Usually, this augers good news of some kind. It is a message that we, the public, have yet to hear, in terms of Kyron's case. It looks to me as if there is actually a witness yet to come forward, who can help solve the case. This is not related to the writer of the verse, however. The writer of the verse was speculating; had it been anything more, testimony would have been shared in a more traditional way, with those whose jobs and skill sets involve using witness statements to solve missing persons cases.

Mary Georgine Lang

Mary Georgine Lang disappeared in 1983, while running errands for her boss, a local attorney. Some of her personal effects, along with her car, were found a few days later, but Mary Lang is still missing. I have laid a horoscope spread for her reading.

In the first house, we find the three of cups. Normally, this card comes up to tell everyone that all is well, however; in this case, we must look at its alternative meaning, which refers to quick endings. The nature of the type of relationship represented by this card is often romantic, but other friendships can also be described. The four of swords comes up in the second house. This is a very different message from the first house card. The second house governs money and possession; it appears that Mary's money "went dormant", or "froze", after she disappeared. Somehow, this played a role in the big picture. House number three, governing communication, relatives, and short journeys, gives us the eight of cups. This tells us that very shortly after Mary disappeared, the whole effort that was put into her disappearance was abandoned. So whatever this was all about was a failure. In the fourth house, we have the four of wands, telling us that Mary's home environment had some sort of protection......it ties in a bit with the four of swords we saw in the second house, connected to her finances.

The fifth house, of sex appeal, creativity, and children, shows Death, reversed. Once again, the message is that the sought-after asset here has been "frozen", or was never in Mary's possession in the first place. In the sixth house, health, work relationships, and mundane everyday matters, we get the Knight of Wands, reversed. The type of man usually described here is a jealous one, with a violent temper. His position in Mary's work relationships is interesting; this is definitely where he found a connection to her. The seventh house gives us the three of swords. The seventh house governs marriage and partnerships, and the three of swords often appears to describe a divorce, or in-fighting within a family. These elements played a role in Mary's disappearance.

In the eighth house, governing legacies, wills, and death, we have the Hermit. This speaks directly to the reality that Mary is missing, and must be found in order discover what actually happened to her. Since the Hermit falls upside right, we can count on resolution, one day. The ninth house, of long journeys, law, the "establishment", and long-held beliefs, bears the five of swords, reversed. This is not a very nice card to see here, because it screams "violence" and "revenge". Also, since the ninth house is connected to law, often civil law, it takes us back to possible connections to Mary's employer. House number ten, of career ambitions and social status, back this up with the Page of Pentacles, reversed. It looks as if someone had either stalked Mary on the day she disappeared, or given information about her whereabouts and vulnerabilities to someone with bad intentions. In the eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, and friends, we have the three of pentacles, reversed. This is very telling. This points almost directly to a "friend" who did not like the way Mary handled something connected to her employment! Almost as if this "friend" wanted Mary to manipulate a legal matter, or violate a law, as a "favor", and was disappointed! In the twelfth house, of secrets, secret enemies, and self undoing, we find the six of wands, in the reversed position. This is the successful advance of an enemy. Also, a "message", of sorts. As for location, the eight of cups suggests possibly eight miles to the west, but as it falls reversed, this locations may have been reconsidered or changed. The five of swords in the ninth house bears a suggestion of east as a direction, but once again, the card is reversed. It appears that whoever hid evidence did a certain amount of backtracking and redistributing. One of the alternative meanings of the five of swords has to do with "storms ahead", but storm clouds are not unusual in Kansas! It's possible that we are being directed to a location that has "storm", "cloud", or "stormcloud" as part of its name. Or a place that has a name like "tornado" or "cyclone". The suggestion of the reversed six of wands in the twelfth house would be "six" to the south, but as it is reversed, north ended up being more important. Other symbols to look for are crosses, laurel, and bright flowers on vines. She is not very far from a church.

Murders Of Patricia Smith And Patricia Magers

Here's a cold case from Wichita, Kansas, from 1992. Patricia Smith and Patricia Magers were both shot to death in the bridal shop where they worked. A composite sketch of the suspect appears on the poster, above, but no one was ever arrested and brought to justice in this case. Let's see what the Tarot can tell  us.

I used a horoscope spread for this reading, and while I shuffled, the Knight of Wands fell out, reversed, so the descriptions of a suspect with reddish hair in 1992 are apt; however the first house in this reading has given us the Knight of Pentacles, and the second house has given us the Knight of Cups. These two houses represent personality and financial prospects, respectively, so what are two knights doing here? Also, these knight fall upside right, describing them as part of the solution, rather than part of the problem. The Knight of Pentacles is methodical and moves slowly, going through everything with a fine toothed comb. The Knight of Cups is more expressive about his feelings, and may be a spokesperson for the local police. He is often a messenger of sorts. He is still hopeful that the suspect can be found. In the third house, we find the Empress. The third house is about letters, communication, short journeys, and relatives; the Empress is the "mother" card in the Tarot. We have a suspect who has used a woman, either his own mother, his childrens' mother, or a woman who has children who are not connected to him, as a "front". He has probably retreated to her home, and she is probably unaware of his pastimes. Look for her, also, to have reddish hair and a complexion similar to his. This is backed up by the fourth card, in the place of home environment, which is the nine of cups.....the card of home environment! This suspect is completely unworried about getting caught.

The fifth house, the house of sex appeal and pleasure, gives us the Queen of Pentacles. This is an adult female; brunette and possibly with brown eyes, with whom the suspect has had a romantic relationship. She is not, as of yet, connected to his life of crime, but she represents the prototype of his victims...mostly brunettes! House number six, work relationships and everyday matters, gives us the King of Cups, reversed. As an employee and as a neighbor, this man is dishonest and twisted; he has a perverse sense of entitlement.
The seven of pentacles appears reversed in the seventh house, of marriage and partnerships. This suspect has probably been divorced at least once, and has lost income or property he considers rightfully his because of it. In the eighth house, of death, transitions, and legacies, we have the Moon. This clearly points to imagination, and the suspect almost feeling that by targeting a certain "type", brunette females, he can "regain" something. Almost as if he thinks he is "owed" something.

In the ninth house, the house of long journeys and the "establishment", and relationships thereof, we have the six of swords, reversed. This is very interesting, because it indicates that wherever this killer is, currently, he is not doing much travel. His home, or his stomping grounds, are probably in the same part of the Midwest as Patricia Smith and Patricia Mager's homes had been. He has even used this as a strategy. Also, look for him to be on probation for other types of crime. The tenth card, in the house of career ambitions and social status, is the seven of cups. This person has a vivid imagination about his own abilities, and has never really applied himself to a stable type of gainful employment. Those who know him are well aware of this. The eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, friends, and hobbies, shows us the ten of pentacles. Somehow, the suspect has either inherited, or by some other means, acquired a large amount of money or property which he did not earn. In the twelfth house, of secrets, secret enemies, and self undoing, we have the ten of cups. So far, this suspect has gotten away with everything he has done. Kansas authorities are not really hopeful that they will find him, either, especially if he is related to someone in the community who is enabling and protecting him. His mistake will be in thinking that his enablers will remain perpetually interested in enabling him.

Sierra Lamar Update

Someone sent me a question concerning the direction of the Sierra Lamar case. It is disturbing to see another year pass by, with no resolution. Here is a link to Find Sierra Lamar, and I will attempt to do another reading. Sometimes, I am not sure there is anything to add to a cold case with another reading, but a lot of time has gone by in Sierra's case.

Someone recently asked me if there would be any answers in court, as the defendant in her case, Antolin Garcia-Torres, has not entered a plea and will not cooperate. So I will update by asking if there will be any answers in court.

We start with the six of pentacles, reversed, crossed by the eight of cups. The six of pentacles usually appears reversed to describe bad debts and fraud; it raises my eyebrows a bit to see it at the core of the answer to a question on a matter such as this! It is crossed by the eight of cups, which in this case, is read reversed. This card is telling us a story of joy, happiness, and of matters spiritual getting abandoned for matters material. If I didn't know better, it would appear that Antolin did not get paid for something, and is patiently waiting for a payday of some sort! Or at least for his efforts to be rewarded.

In the background of the entire situation, we find the five of cups, reversed, which is all about expectations in this positions. Antolin was either waiting for an old friend, or had just been introduced, by an old friend, to someone new. The Page of Pentacles is also in the background. This involves communication or a message of some sort, about Sierra. So it appears that Antolin had either just met Sierra, had just been introduced, or had been told about her, and had attempted to find her that morning......the last day she was seen alive. The Queen of Pentacles also appears; she is a woman who has looked for Sierra since she disappeared, and has not given up. The five of pentacles appears as a sign of things to come, and in answer to a question like this, I would have to say that it is new information or testimony that is finally going to be heard.

The ace of swords appears in the place of fears; this describes Antolin's fear about the justice system, specifically that new and relevant information will be revealed, and it also describes some growing fears among Sierra's friends and family that Antolin will not be held accountable. The environment surrounding this is, once again, about a reward or "getting paid", because the next card is the ten of pentacles. Sometimes, this card tells of money that was spent on a house or a business, but; once again, I cannot see how this would play into a question like this one. Temperance comes up in the place of hopes. There is still a waiting game being played......but then,,,,,the reading ends with the nine of wands, upside down. This is the very opposite of waiting! This is an obstacle thrown in the defendant's path. Still, there are going to be delays, as the defendant has no intention of cooperating. Any interactions he has with the outside world, particularly where he or those close to him get any financial resources, will be watched and scrutinized.

It still appears as is Sierra is not far from where she lived. Outside, in a place where there are small animals, such as gophers and turtles.

Virginia Welch

Virginia Welch, of Roanoke, has not been seen since July of 1982, when she was last seen alive by her roommate. In 1982, there were no cell phones or email, and all other traceable clues of her to day life stopped at that point, in 1982. We will see if the Tarot can shed any light on her situation.

We have a basis of the Queen of Swords, crossed by the Knight of Cups. These are two people, a man and a woman. The woman was an adult in 1982, and because she falls upright, I will assume she means Virginia no harm. If this queen is not the roommate, she may have actually seen Virginia after her roommate saw her; if not, her testimony is more relevant. The Knight of Cups is a young man who distracted Virginia and the Queen of Swords with a plan or a new idea......a plan that had not been properly researched.....and that was the end of the conversation. For some preceding background, we find the Page of Wands, reversed, which I think is not a person in this reading, but the whole situation......this page in reversal represents bad news, unplanned catastrophe, and indecision. There was a problem with Virginia acting against her own better judgment in connection to the Knight of Cups.

Behind this, we find Justice. Justice is upside right....so something important happened that actually had a well balanced start. But then, Justice is immediately followed by the reversed Page of Cups. This is connected to the knight, and indicates deception. So far, it is starting to look as if Virginia may have stumbled into a situation involving crime, or police matters, and someone hiding information determined that Virginia was a threat. Something else to note is that the number of the Justice card is eleven. Perhaps that related to location, or the name or part of an address or description of a location. The next card is the three of pentacles. This is a completely different direction than the one we have followed via the other cards: matters connected to Virginia stop, and the Knight of Cups moves on. His job is described here in this card....he was either in construction or a job connected to driving from one site to another. As a location for Virginia, this would indicate near someone's workplace, or near her own workplace. Pentacles are "earth" cards, but before we determine that she has been buried, lets see what the other cards tell us.

The first card on the staff is the Hierophant. Virginia did not always want to conform to mainstream
ideals, and this was part of the reason she disappeared. I am almost seeing an effort to "go against the grain" at times. In the place of environment, the Star comes up. This is a card of hope and enlightenment, but as it relates to location, it is interesting to note that Roanoke is called the "Star City of the South". Could she still be in Roanoke? Rivers and water are also suggested on this card, and possibly boats and places where two bodies of water meet. The three of cups appears to tell us that there was a difference of opinion that made the friendship between Virginia and the Knight of Cups a bad "political" choice, meaning that she could not stay associated with her and still keep all of his other friends. It also points to an "air'related" death, possibly strangulation or suffocation. The reading ends with the six of cups, looking back on past relationships and childhood, but not making new memories. This is sad, and I wish this reading gave us something happier. Pictured to the left is the Roanoke Star, on Mill Mountain in Roanoke, Virginia.

Will There Be Answers About The Lyon Sisters?

There are now two persons of interest named in the case of the Lyon sisters, who disappeared in Maryland in 1975. There was a massive search in Bedford County, Virginia, and the grand jury is deliberating about charges. The question is, will we find answers through these developments?

We start with the five of pentacles, which speaks of destitution and loneliness. This describes where the girls actually are. It is crossed by the World, which is triumph and achievement. While the desolation of the five of pentacles is not good news, it is rather expected after all these years. The World is a good sign, although investigators are still working at finding answers. The Star appears as a foundation for the recent search......a reliable tip was received. It was followed by the three of swords, which tells us a little more about the tip. There is an element of infighting between involved parties here; someone either heard a secret he or she did not want to keep, or someone divulged information out of malice toward another party. Either way, there was discord involved. The ten of cups appears as a possibility, which means that this lead may, indeed, finally bring the Lyon sisters home.

The Knight of Pentacles appears as a young to middle aged man who is searching for the girls. He is moving slowly, not only in physical searches through rural places which must be physically dug up, or unearthed, (earth is represented by pentacles) but through information and paperwork, as well. Answers will come slowly, but he is not going to give up.

The six of swords appears as a motivating factor, in some way. It is a fear of travel, or movement, on one person's part. Location, location........if it were a location, it would be a body of water big enough for a boat and deep enough for travel. The five of cups follows, as someone's unshared knowledge. It also has to do with disappointment over an inheritance, or frustration because a reward or payment was not as large as expected. Most Tarot decks show the five cups near a stream or a river. The five of swords follows this, in the place of hopes. This is clearly revenge, which, once again, gives credence to the idea introduced by the three of swords that came up earlier, showing some infighting among parties. The five of swords in the place of desires clearly details revenge. The last card here is the one true problem with finding answers through this investigation; it is the Page of Swords, reversed. Here we have someone who has shared information, but with ulterior motives, and who has not really shared ALL the information he or she knows. Hopefully, the Knight of Pentacles will persevere, and yes, it looks as if we may get answers through these proceedings.

Toni Heartsong

Bob and Toni Heartsong lived in Florida, and were married for almost twenty-seven years when Bob came home one evening and found Toni brutally murdered. After about eight years, the state of Florida charged Bob with Toni's murder, but Bob was later acquitted. At this point, there are no additional suspects, and Toni Heartsong's murder remains unsolved. The question I have posed is "Who killed Toni Heartsong, and why?

The general atmosphere is described by the Sun, reversed, crossed by the Emperor. Here we have a good situation, albeit not entirely perfect, with a fatherly male influence. In this case, the person represented as the fatherly male influence was somewhat exasperated, as was Toni, with the matter that eventually led to this murder. As a founding circumstance and attitude on the part of someone involved, the four of cups appear. This is ingratitude and dissatisfaction. Someone expected more of Toni, and possibly Bob, somewhere along the line, than they felt they should give. The whole matter seems to have drifted into the past at this point; we get the Hanged Man, reversed, to tell us this. When the Hanged Man appears reversed, this usually means n unwillingness to sacrifice, especially for the greater good, such as within a family, but sometimes it simply means egotism; but in the same vein: one's preoccupation with ego is more important than any team or community. Thus describes a large part of the motivation for the murder. It was rather personal.

The card describing the ultimate goal of the murderer is the ten of swords, which is a very violent card. It also speaks of abrupt and final endings, so to see this card in the goals and plans of the murderer tells us that this murder was premeditated. The next card is the eight of swords, which is entrapment with no escape. Toni was cornered after her routine or schedule was learned by someone. The card describing the perpetrator's fears is the eight of pentacles, which is the card of the apprentice. Something this person did not want to do was start all over again in a new job, or begin to train for one. In fact, this person really didn't want to take the time and trouble to learn work related skills at all. The eight of wands, reversed, describes the family atmosphere. This is jealousy and domestic problems. In the place of hopes, we have the Hierophant, which is tradition, and often marriage. It would appear that both Bob and Toni valued their marriage and their family relationships. The last card is a court card, and I believe it is the perpetrator; the Knight of Cups, reversed. This is a young man, somewhere between the ages of twenty-one and thirty-five or so. The Knight of Cups reversed is generally someone who is dishonest, especially in regard to business matters. This is someone who commits fraud and scams. Also, light brown hear and blue or hazel eyes are likely.

The presence of three eights is significant in this reading; coupled with the four of cups as a founding circumstance, it would appear that someone wanted Toni to help finance and idea or venture, and she determined that it was not a good risk. The eights refer to mastery, and they have come up in places that bring mastery and ability on the part of the victim as underlying causes for her murder. Could someone have gotten angry with her for seeing through a fraud and wanted revenge? A lot of speculation has focused on Bob, but according to this reading, the murderer was younger than Bob.
