Is David Anthony Durham Connected To The Kyron Horman Case?

The question of David Anthony Durham, formerly of Sauvie Island, Oregon, came up earlier this week in some online discussions about Kyron Horman, who disappeared from his school in Portland on June 4 of 2010. Durham began acting erratically, according to friends, in June of the same year, and six months or so later, got pulled over by a Lincoln City, Oregon police officer for speeding. Instead of simply signing the ticket and returning home, Durham shot the police officer and fled. Luckily, the police officer recovered, but Durham has not been seen since, and is wanted by the FBI. There have been questions, over the years, concerning whether or not Durham was involved, in any way, with Kyron's disappearance. The Tarot may be able to shed some light on this.

This is a Celtic Cross reading, because there is really just one clear answer we seek, here. We begin with the nine of wands, upside right, crossed by the five of wands, which is also read upside right. This gives a message of patience and waiting for the smoke to clear, and for the truth to come out. So far, it looks as if Durham was waiting, along with the rest of us, for Kyron to be found. Beneath this, we have the seven of swords, reversed, describing some instruction, or communication concerning Kyron's case. Perhaps Durham printed flyers with Kyron's information or handed out a few. It could also denote a plan, of some sort, with a suspect, but lets not be hasty. Moving along to another past factor, we find the five of pentacles, also reversed. This is a payment for something. We would hope that it had nothing to do with Kyron, but if it did, it could have been something as small as paying for printing flyers. Durham did do some work for a printer, at that point. We would hope it wasn't anything more.

The next card is the King of Cups, reversed. This is a violent, dishonest man who appears calm at first glance. This seems to describe Durham very well, given his crimes. Then, we find the High Priestess, telling us a little more about this unusual case. The High Priestess is a card of secrets and mystery, and it seems that some bit of secret information, perhaps that Durham did not initially want, played a role in the events that led to his erratic behavior. Did someone stop in and pick up flyers from him, and tell him some inside information about Kyron's case that he initially did not want? Could he have been friends with a suspect or an accomplice, and did that person either attempt, or succeed, in involving him?

At the base of the staff, we get the four of swords. This is not a card of death, but of rest. If I were to venture a guess based on this reading, I would say that Durham is alive at this writing. Based on the next card, describing environment, which is the eight of swords, I would say that Durham is not as free as he would seem, given his successful evasion of justice. Somehow, he is "stuck" somewhere. This may relate to his ID and passport not being renewable, or to pandemic restrictions failing to be amenable to life on the lam. The card of hopes, the next card, is the two of wands. This tells us that he is always planning his next move carefully, but in a methodical way. The last card here is the three of wands, reversed. Somehow, Durham slips up, at some point, and trusts the wrong person or gets recognized. I have not been given a time frame on this, but I suppose all good (and bad) things must come to an end!

From this reading, I really do not get an impression that Durham was involved in Kyron's disappearance. I do get an idea that he may have heard some things about it that were beyond surface knowledge, and didn't want to be involved: if he is involved, it is because he was dragged into it by another person. It also looks as if he was waiting for the truth to make itself abundant and clear. If Durham is ever found, I hope law enforcement takes the time to ask him if he heard anything, before disappearing, himself, about Kyron's disappearance.

Jackie Dene Hay

KS Missing&Unsolved - Ricky Tebrugge - FDR/CREATOR on Twitter: "PLEASE SHARE!STILL MISSING!Jackie Dene Hay(Topeka,KS) http://t.co/g7mklzedi5" / Twitter.

Jackie Dene Hay, five years old, disappeared in Topeka, Kansas in September of 1981. She was reportedly playing with other children, but did not return home. She was last seen walking away from a park. Today, she would be forty-six years old, if she was found alive. Lets see what the cards have to say about her case. I decided to use a horoscope layout for this reading, because it often offers more information, and I have never heard anything, at all, about this case.

We begin with the ace of wands, reversed, in the first house, defining the entire matter. This little girl was on her way back to her house from playing outside, and for some reason, the walk back inside just got "cancelled". The ace of wands often refers to "cancellations". The next card, in the second house, governing important material possessions, is the two of swords, also reversed. Could an adult have offered something to this little girl? Here, we have an unexpected change of direction. Something took Jackie completely off course. In the third house, of siblings and other relatives, communication, and short journeys, we have the nine of wands, reversed. The nine of wands, when if falls reversed, shows impatience and obstacles, so I am going to venture a guess that Jackie didn't keep up with the other children, and had fallen behind them, a few paces. There is usually safety in numbers, and she somehow ended up without her playmates. The fourth house card, representing the home environment, is the four of swords, reversed. In reversal, this card means renewed activity; sometimes unrest. She disappeared from somewhere very close to her family's residence.

The fifth house, of creativity, children, and entertainment, gives us the Knight of Swords, reversed. I do not like this at all, because the Knight of Swords is a rather violent card, especially upside down. This is definitely a youngish man, and he is involved in Jackie's disappearance. He very well might have known Jackie personally. This man had some unresolved anger issues, and a tendency to blame innocents, especially children, for his feelings. The sixth house, of inconvenience and and mundane annoyances, shows the four of wands, reversed. This shows an unfulfilled search, with the missing family member never found, and questions never properly addressed or answered. Upside right, this card would describe a victory lap, but upside down it shows lack of completion. It also harks back to the possible motive of the Knight of Swords: somehow, he thought his life would be easier if he harmed this child.

In the seventh house, which details partnerships, for good or for ill, we have the Knight of Cups, reversed. This is a dishonest young man, and I believe he is related to the search for Jackie. He either did not know how to conduct a search, and wasn't honest about it, or he had ulterior motives for allowing the case to remain unsolved. He was part of the effort to find Jackie. This brings me to the eighth house card, which is the seven of pentacles. While this card still describes success that has not yet been attained, it shows an effort. It is part of the outgrowth of the seventh house of partnerships, so I think that many of the clues can still be followed, if someone is willing to try.

The ninth house, of ideals, bears the two of cups, reversed. Jackie's disappearance somehow spurred some disharmony, somewhere. In addition to faulty search efforts, I see a breakdown of communication between people involved and strained relationships. In the tenth house, which governs law and legal matters, we have the Page of Swords, which represents a valid tip. This card often represents a young person, but since any witnesses to the incident would no longer be young, but middle aged, we must take that into account. Another thing this card often shows is a letter or some other type of communication, and its tenth house position is all about law enforcement. This is a sign of hope.

We have, in the eleventh house, of hopes, wishes, and friends, the eight of swords, reversed. This tells us that new beginnings are now possible; I interpret this to mean that information that can solve this case is now available, where in the past, it was not. This is a freeing up of resources and tips. In the twelfth house, of dissolution and enemies, we find the Moon, reversed. This refers to action of someone who had either planned to harm Jackie, or planned to harm a child, on that day. Sadly, this was not an accident or a spur of the moment crime, but something that was premeditated. We will hope that the case gets solved.

Afterthoughts: In musing upon clues, here, it is abundantly clear, from the appearance of the Knight of Swords, that the key to finding this little girl is in identifying the perpetrator. I really think that clues can be found very close to where she lived, at the time. I think any searches of properties to which she was connected, or visited frequently, should be repeated.

Request For Another Reading About Kyron Horman

I haven't put any new readings on this site for awhile, but there was a request for another reading about Kyron Horman, who disappeared from his school in Portland, Oregon in June of 2010 and is still missing. This reading will be a tarot reading in a horoscope spread, and we will see if the cards can shed any light on this case. My focus here is about where Kyron is, and how he can be found.

The first card, representing the first house, of the situation itself, along with all of the intentions and potential, is the five of wands, reversed. This harks back to the day Kyron disappeared; there were obstacles that the perpetrator did not foresee, and for reasons which will hopefully be explained by the rest of the reading, the cards feel that this has a bearing on the case, today. So there must be a detail that was left unattended by the perpetrator, even though no one has located Kyron. The second house, of material and practical concerns, gives us the Hierophant, reversed. The speaks to the unorthodox and strange way that this whole crime was carried out. It is also a suggestion for investigators to be open to new ways of solving crimes. It's number is five, and I think that may be significant, too., especially since the reading began with a "five". In the third house, we have the King of Swords, reversed. The third house deals with relatives and communication, and sometimes, short journeys. While said relatives represented by the third house are usually siblings, it is possible that this reversed king is an older male relative who does not wish for Kyron to be found. This could also represent law enforcement, and negligence concerning the questioning of certain relatives, and the failure to get as much information from them as possible. While the Hierophant tells us about the environment and process, the king refers to a person, or an organization made up of people, such as a police department. There is also a chance that this upside down king is actually an accomplice who told Kyron a lie to gain his cooperation.

The fourth house, of the physical environment, gives us the Lovers. Since Kyron was obviously not old enough for the traditional meaning of this card, I will point out that this card also refers to choices. Because it has appeared in the house of physical location, and sometimes the later stages of life, I am going to go out on a limb, here, and postulate that it refers to Kyron's father's marriage to Terri, and to the home they shared. Somehow, this whole situation started there. Also, to bring the first card back into the spotlight for a minute, it was a card with the value of "five": I think this whole mess got its start at 5:00 or 5:30 in the morning. In the fifth house, we have the King of Pentacles. This is a card of a man who either owns or is employed by a stable company in the house of children and amusement. As he is upside right, he is neutral to the situation, and may have helped the perpetrator in some way, without even realizing it. Perhaps his surveillance camera picked up some movement or clue, and he deleted it, without realizing what he had. Or maybe he met Kyron, face to face, and did not know that Kyron was in danger. Nonetheless, this person may be able to shed light, if he realizes what his contribution means.

The sixth house, which shows us all the little and big inconveniences of life, features the Knight of Cups. This is a man who is still actively looking for Kyron. I am happy to see him, here. He is open to suggestions and able to listen to the right tip, and follow up on it. Since he is in the house of inconvenience, he is a problem to the perpetrator. Moving along to the seventh house, of partnerships and partners, we have the Page of Swords, reversed. This is a young person who partnered with the perpetrator. Swords often deals with words, both written and spoken, so we can expect this young person to given false testimony about Kyron and Kyron's whereabouts. I will also note, here, that this page is the same suit, swords, as the king who showed up in the third house. Perhaps it refers to a child and an older man from the same branch of a large or complicated family. This page knows the truth, as it relates to the first house, but won't discuss it. The eighth house, which is about the wills, and assets generated by death, gives us the Moon. This is betrayal and enemies, here. This was not only about hate, but about getting something of value by creating this whole situation.

The ninth house, which shows the goals and ideals, along with longer travels, gives us the Queen of Pentacles. This is another woman connected to the case. As she is upright, I am going to assume that she has Kyron's best interest at heart, and is trying to find him. Look for her to be involved in the resolution of this case! Moving along to the tenth house, of public influences and government involvement, we have the Devil, reversed. There has been a certain amount of ego involved in this search, along with misapplied traditional "wisdom". It is time to listen to Hierophant in reverse, and go over things in a less traditional way. In the eleventh house, representing the organizations that have helped, we get the seven of cups, showing the general lack of success, so far, in finding Kyron. There have been a lot of far fetched theories and tips followed, here, and the seven of cups is telling us that something fundamental has been completely overlooked and ignored. The eleventh house shares an axis with the fifth house, where we found the King of Pentacles. I really think it is time to find out who he is and see what he has to say! He is a loose end here, that was never tied up by the perpetrator.

The twelfth house, of death and self undoing, gives us the Empress, reversed. I think this is the maternal figure who had access to Kyron in the early morning hours of June 4, 2010, and who took him to school, where he was last seen. The reversal of this card speaks for itself; it reveals a shallow woman who cares only for herself. She appears opposite the knight in the sixth house, so I think the knight is working to counteract her. There were, and are, definitely others involved, and others who know exactly what happened to Kyron. This perpetrator did not act alone.

The cards, once again, have not described a death for Kyron, although the reversed Empress is certainly a dangerous person. The Moon in the eighth house is a bit troubling, and could show a final resting place outside, in water. The first two cards also give us a clue: five, or perhaps a route number, such as rt. 5, or maybe five miles away. Also, the fourth house is where the Lovers turned up, and it is on the same axis as the tenth house, where we got the Devil, reversed. The Devil sometimes tells us of friends or partners who are trapped in a relationship by things other than friendship and love; such as blackmail and secrets. Perhaps someone is no longer trapped by the reversed Empress will be able to shed light on this. As always, I am hoping that Kyron turns up alive. If he does, he will be a young man, by now.

Gannon Stauch

Eleven year old Gannon Stauch has been missing from Colorado Springs since January 27. His stepmother told police that he went to a friend's house, but no one has seen him since. I will do a tarot reading, using a horoscope spread, to see what the cards have to say about Gannon's case.

In the first house, we get the Fool. This is the foundation of the entire situation, and we can expect to be surprised by a few things, as the search continues. The Fool is all about adventure and new things, but sometimes about foolish choices, as well. This card also describes risks, and I will come back to it concerning the types of risks later in the reading. Moving along to the second house, of material possessions and personal wealth, we have the seven of pentacles, which shows us a farmer, waiting for his crop to grow and ripen. This usually tells us about an adult who waits for a client, or an investment to come to fruition, not a child or the pursuits of a child. This is unusual, here. The third house, of communication and relatives, yields the Magician. The Magician in this context shows an adult involved who orchestrated this disappearance and whose communication, both written and spoken, along with phone data, can be helpful. This person has manipulated and deceived others before, and has gotten away with it.

The fourth house, of the home environment, shows the Hanged Man. The fourth house tells us about the home of the subject, and sometimes about the current environment. The Hanged Man speaks of suspension, so from this, we can extrapolate that someone close to Gannon has not given all the information he or she can. Also, as a physical location, shallow ponds and creeks with trees near the shorelines are indicated.

The Star, the card of inspiration and success, comes up in the fifth house of creativity and children. This could mean a number of things; it could mean that Gannon will be found by someone who "thinks outside of the box", or it could merely mean that Gannon is outside, somewhere. This idea is actually followed up by the Sun, which appears in the sixth house of inconveniences and challenges. Somehow, these elements, associated with outdoors, are key to finding Gannon. "Sun", or "Star" may also be included in the name of a road or a place.

Now, we move to a subject that is a bit sticky; the seventh house of partnerships. This house yields the Empress, which is the "mother" card, reversed. Gannon is too young for such a partner of his own, so we must assume that this is a family member or an adult female who is involved in his life in such a way that she makes a difference in the choices that he makes and in his general experience in life. As she falls reversed, I am going to assume that she does not mean him well. The eighth house card, the three of wands, also reversed, relates directly to things involving both the reversed Empress and Gannon. When the three of wands falls reversed, we can expect a certain amount of treachery and bad faith, so I hate to see it in a position that relates to products of agreements and partnerships. The ninth house, of beliefs and guidance, gives us the two of wands, reversed, telling us that impatience and obstinacy on the part of the reversed Empress  played a role, here, too.

The tenth house, of reputation and public life, gives us the Queen of Swords, reversed, telling us that narrow mindedness, malice, and, once again, deceit, is involved. This is either a female accomplice, or an accomplice after the fact. There has been a certain amount of justifying and rationalizing concerning the lies to law enforcement. We have the nine of swords, reversed, indicating loss and misery, in the eleventh house of friends, hobbies, and play. This worries me a great deal. The twelfth house, of secret enemies and endings, shows the four of cups, reversed. This shows acceptance, but acceptance of what?

Going back to the Fool, in the first house, it appears that someone promised Gannon an adventure of some sort, or promised him something in order to get him to do something he otherwise would not have done, or to go somewhere he otherwise would not have gone. The Hanged Man, the Star, and the Sun are all cards which, on mundane levels, speak to the out of doors, and that is why I think Gannon will be found outside. I do not think he ever made it to his friend's house, and while I don't see a lot of violence in this reading, the two women indicated, the Empress reversed and the Queen of Swords reversed, worry me. Hopefully, Gannon will be found safe, and all of the dire warnings in this reading will be things that have not yet come to pass.

A very sad update: Gannon was found deceased, near a bridge on the Escambia River in Florida.
